Chief Maloney Unity Run

About Chief Maloney -

END OF WATCH

He was eight days from retirement.

On April 12, 2012, Chief Michael Maloney was requested by members of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Drug Task Force to assist with the execution of a search warrant in Greenland, NH.

They were immediately met with gunfire and four sustained gunshot wounds. As the officers hastily retreated from the front porch, Chief Maloney entered the line of fire, pulling critically wounded officers to the safety of a patrol car, ordering them to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Chief Maloney returned to the immediate vicinity of the gun battle to defend other wounded officers.

It was at that time that he was fatally wounded.

Chief Maloney has been awarded numerous medals for his acts of heroism.
